Sandie Nichols-Howe

Sandie Nichols was born in Portsmouth, on the south coast of England. After school, she studied musical theater at the School of Speech and Drama in Birmingham, obtaining her Equity Card in the process. She then enjoyed considerable success when forming her own children’s theater company and working with a thriving model agency.

She moved with her son to Florida in the United States 25 years ago where she set up and ran her own modeling agency and also worked in importing and retailing sportswear for a major Swedish fashion company.

While living in Naples FL, she became aware of the desperate feral cat situation in the city and started a trap, neuter, and return programme with a small group of equally committed ladies. The charitable organisation they formed together led to the opening of a shelter, where she soon took on the important role of fundraising, as well as continuing her endless trapping, and she even opened a store to fund the venture. The Naples Cat Alliance now houses 300 rescued cats and, wherever possible, finds homes for the cats and kittens that come into their care.

Sandie moved to Javea last year with her husband, following their two-and-a-half-year, 45000-mile trip around the whole of the US with their four adored cats (writing their popular blog catsacrossamerica.net) and is thrilled to be working with Cat Land, helping with fundraising in the ongoing challenge of helping, healing and homing abandoned cats in the town.
